So initially I was a little bit scared to test the RCCB or even to open the fuse box myself, but Mazly said it’s safe. I can do it myself and it is important to do so.

Here’s how to self-test your RCCB.

• Step 1: Push the test button marked “T”
• Step 2: Circuit breaker switch will trip
• Step 3: Restore switch to original position
• If the RCCB DOES not trip, do not use any electrical appliances in your house, especially the water heater, kettle and other appliances that have metal surface/ contact.

And in this case, call a certified electrician immediately.

So remember guys, always test your RCCB to ensure its functionality, at least four times in a year.
